Overtime signals a problem

Overtime is not evidence of dedication. It is a symptom of something wrong. A schedule was off. The scope was too large. An unexpected obstacle appeared. Or someone is silently carrying too much. Whatever the cause, ignoring it is not an option.

When overtime becomes a pattern, we investigate. We do not tell people to work harder. We look at the system and ask which part is broken. Most of the time, the problem is not the person. It is the structure around them.

Unhealthy conditions produce unhealthy work. If we want a company that lasts, we have to build an environment where people can last too.
