We collect the least data we can
Data is not an asset. It is a liability. The more you hold, the more can leak, and when it leaks the responsibility is yours. So we collect only what we genuinely need, and we delete it when the need is gone.
We do not ask for information that is not needed to operate the product. Every field we collect must have a reason, and we must be able to explain that reason. If we cannot explain it, we do not collect it.
This principle sometimes conflicts with what marketing would prefer. We know more data can help reach customers more precisely. We choose to collect less anyway.
