Privacy policy, full text
Effective Last updated
Corent (“we”, “us”, or “the company”) follows the Personal Information Protection Act and related Korean law and publishes this privacy policy to protect personal data.
This public release is a company-information website. It does not provide an account service, product interface, API, or federated network. At launch, inquiries use direct email to mail@corent.fyi, and the website contact form and policy-update request are unavailable. A statement below about a form or policy-update request applies only when that feature is enabled.
Article 1. Why we process personal data
We handle personal data only as needed to:
- understand and answer an inquiry received by direct email or an enabled contact form;
- process an enabled policy-update request and send policy-update notices;
- measure aggregate public-page use and performance to improve the website; and
- operate and protect the website, and respond to legal duties, rights requests, complaints, and disputes.
We do not sell personal data to advertising businesses.
Article 2. What we collect
- A direct-email inquiry includes the sender’s email address and message. When enabled, a contact form processes an email address and message.
- When enabled, a policy-update request processes an email address. Submitting a request does not complete a subscription. The requester must accept an invitation.
- Cloudflare may process information needed for website operation, transmission, and security.
- For website analytics, PostHog receives the page visited, site language, coarse browser and device categories, how a visitor arrived, links and menus used, and page-performance measurements. We do not send form values, message content, page text, full referring addresses, or an account or device identifier.
Article 3. How long we keep it
We delete or stop handling personal data under our control without delay when it is no longer needed for its purpose. Inquiry mail, policy-update requests or membership status, analytics information, and provider records may remain while needed for inquiries, notices, website improvement, security, disputes, or legal duties. We retain only what is needed for the stated purpose.
We do not store contact-form or policy-update request submissions in a site database. Information handled by a provider may be retained under that provider’s settings, policies, legal duties, and security procedures.
Article 4. How we destroy it
We delete or stop handling personal data under our control without delay when it is no longer needed. Information retained for law or a dispute is kept separate until the reason for retention ends. We securely delete electronic files under our control so that they are difficult to recover or reproduce.
Copies in a receiving mailbox, Cloudflare, Google Workspace, Google Group, or PostHog are handled through the provider’s deletion functions and policies. We cannot directly delete every copy in a system we do not control.
Article 5. Disclosure to third parties
We do not sell personal data and generally do not disclose it to a third party for a purpose unrelated to the stated processing purposes. We may disclose or make it available where applicable law allows, including with consent, under a legal basis, in response to a lawful request, to protect life, body, or property in an emergency, or to protect rights or prevent illegal acts.
A processor’s handling of data to perform the work in Article 6 is managed as outsourced processing, not as third-party provision.
Article 6. Processors we use
We entrust the following providers with work within the necessary scope.
- Cloudflare: website delivery, transmission, and security, and, if forms are enabled, forwarding a contact inquiry or policy-update request. The data are the form email address and message or email address, and information needed for transmission and security.
- Google and Google Workspace: mail delivered to mail@corent.fyi and, when the service is enabled, invitations, membership status, and policy-update delivery for the Google Group policy-updates@corent.fyi. The data are inquiry or request-notification mail, email address, and invitation or membership information.
- PostHog: receipt, storage, and aggregation of restricted cookieless website-use and performance measurements. The data are the categories in Article 2(4) and network information needed to deliver the request.
We manage transfers to providers so that they do not receive more information than is needed for that work.
Article 7. International transfers
Cloudflare and Google operate services in multiple countries. Inquiry or policy-update request information may therefore be transferred to or stored in systems outside Korea while those providers process it.
PostHog processes the restricted analytics information in Article 2(4) through its service in the United States. The purpose is aggregate website-use and performance measurement and improvement. A source IP is visible to PostHog while an internet request is delivered.
International transfers are handled on the basis of outsourced processing and any notice, consent, or other step required by applicable law. We take the steps required by applicable law. You may ask about international processing at privacy@corent.fyi.
Article 8. Cookies and similar technologies
Our analytics does not set or read cookies or browser storage, and does not use person profiles, session replay, heatmaps, advertising, or cross-visit identifiers. Technologies needed for website delivery, security, or language preference, rather than analytics, may be used.
You may limit or delete cookies or storage in your browser settings. Doing so may affect some website conveniences. If we introduce persistent tracking, advertising, profiling, or similar technology, we will explain the purpose and take the required steps before using it.
Article 9. Your rights, and how to exercise them
You may ask whether we process your personal data and request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or withdrawal of consent. You may also ask us to delete inquiry material, withdraw a policy-update request, or stop policy-update notices.
Write to privacy@corent.fyi to exercise these rights. We may ask for the minimum information needed to confirm that you are the person concerned or a lawful representative. Where applicable law permits a restriction or refusal, we will explain why. We may not be able to directly correct or delete a copy held by a provider or recipient.
Article 10. Privacy contact
We have designated a privacy contact function for personal-data handling, privacy questions, rights requests, complaints, and relief.
Privacy contact:
- Department: Corent privacy contact
- Role: Privacy contact
- Email: privacy@corent.fyi
You may bring any privacy question, rights request, or complaint to the email address above.

Article 12. Changes to this policy
We may change this policy to reflect changes in law, the public website, processing, or the processors we use. For an important change, we will give notice before its effective date through a website announcement, email, or another reasonable method. A readability edit or typo correction that does not materially affect your rights may be announced in the revision history.
